Rifugio Dona Refuge
The Rifugio Dona is located at the foot of the Catinaccio in Val di Dona, lateral to Fassa, imperceptible from the latter as a steep forest jealously guards its access.
It rests in the cracks of two ridges still intact, where the pristine green dominates, everywhere, until the silhouettes of the crests meet the blue of the sky.
The environment is wild with a panoramic view of the Catinaccio, the Marmolada, the Sassolungo, the Monzoni, not to mention the Ponjin and the Docioril, minor offshoots, yet places of boundless and strategic panoramas which can be reached in a short time from our Rifugio.
The Val Di Dona is one of the Fassa jewels. Until the mid-20th century the population of Mazzin moved up here for haymaking, the small Rifugio was built by renovating a tabià (hay-loft) and inaugurated in 2007.
It offers bar-restaurant and overnight stay.
